Localise Youth Volunteering

Localise Youth Volunteering is Ireland's national youth volunteer programme. With over 50 years experience of enabling young people to make a real and lasting difference in their community through practical grassroot volunteering projects. Our vision is an Ireland where volunteering is part of the norm for young people and is formally recognised as a pathway for education and employment. Introducing the Volunteering in Action Workshop by Localise Youth Volunteering, an online teacher-led experience for young individuals aged 11-18. This programme instils core volunteerism values through a 2.5-hour workshop, adaptable to multiple class sessions. Students are inspired to actively contribute to their communities based on its actual needs. This may include organising fundraisers or talent shows for local nursing homes. Localise offers continuous support throughout the process. This inter-curricular programme complements student Council activities, leadership programmes, and subjects like Junior Cycle Profile of Achievement, Wellbeing, SPHE, CSPE, RE, Politics and Society, LCA, LCVP, and TY. Upon workshop completion, Localise creates a National Youth Volunteering Portfolio (MyVP) for each student, documenting their volunteer participation for future educational and employment pathways.
