Transition Year First Aid Workshop – Emergency First Aid for TY Students. Transition Year is a special and exciting year for students. It gives them the opportunity to explore new subjects and interests, develop new skills, and gain valuable life experiences. With this in mind, we have designed our Transition Year First Aid course specifically around the needs of TY students. All students receive a CPR key chain, a TY First Aid book, and a two-year certificate. Benefits include enhanced knowledge of first aid procedures and emergency response, practical hands-on training in life-saving skills, increased confidence in responding to emergencies, and valuable career and personal development. Topics covered include the roles and responsibilities of a first aider, calling for help, managing a scene, the recovery position, mental health awareness for teenagers, controlling bleeds, anaphylaxis, asthma, poisoning, seizures, stroke, heart attack, the use of bandages and dressings, minor injuries, managing shock, adult CPR, child CPR, infant CPR, AED use, and choking procedures for adults, children, and infants.
