St. Stephens Green

Ireland's best known Victorian public park. Re-opened by Lord Ardilaun in 1880 for the citizens of Dublin. This 9 hectares/22-acre park has been maintained in the original Victorian layout with extensive perimeter tree and shrub planting, spectacular spring and summer Victorian bedding. A visit for primary level students can be used to support various aspects of the curriculum including: CSPE, Art, Craft and Design and History. Worksheets are available for primary modules; contact us for more details. A visit to St Stephens Green Park can also be used to support aspects of the Leaving Certificate curriculum. Social and cultural history, and Leaving Certificate Biology (botany) and Geography are particularly relevant. An audio guide is also available for free download from our website and it takes about 1 hour to complete the tour.
