Holycross Abbey

Holycross Abbey is one of Irelands national monuments. Guided school tours of Holycross Abbey are offered to Primary and Secondary Schools. The Abbey is a restored medieval monastery and is now a parish church. It boasts many unique features including the oldest church bell in Ireland, two shrines that are the highpoint of cistercian art, two relics of the True Cross, etc. The tour touches on many strands of the History curriculum including early people and ancient societies, story, life, work, and culture. Activity sheets help the students to discover the history of this hidden gem.

€4.00 - Primary school: Included are age appropriate worksheets to give the pupils a fun experience of the Abbey.
€5.00 - Secondary school: Age appropriate worksheets (included) help the students explore the unique features of the Abbey.
