GPO Museum

GPO Museum offers exciting and engaging education visits for students of all ages. During their guided tour of GPO Museum students are taken on a journey of discovery as they trace the development of Ireland from the birth of a nation to modern times. GPO Museum is located within the iconic GPO on OConnell Street and we cover not only the 1916 Easter Rising but also other milestones in modern Irish history such as the Irish War of Independence, the Irish Civil War and the Peace Process in Northern Ireland. After the guided tour, students can engage with activities such as using interactive maps to route military dispatches from the GPO to St. Stephens Green and using morse code to proclaim the Irish Republic. Please note that last admissions are at 4pm.
