Custom House Visitor Centre

James Gandon's architectural masterpiece was completed in 1791 and within its walls today lies a 235 year tumultuous history. Our regular school tour delves into that history and brings it to life for students. We also have more specialised tours detailing the Custom House's role in the Great Famine and the building's fate during the Irish revolutionary years. For art history students, we offer a superb sculpture tour. 5th and 6th class primary school pupils enjoy our worksheets and Mason Marks Hunt. All school tours are free subject to OPW T&Cs.
