Carrowmore Megalithic Cemetery

This is the largest cemetery of megalithic tombs in Ireland and is also among the country's oldest, with monuments ranging from five thousand to five thousand eight hundred years old. A restored cottage houses an exhibition relating to the site. Access to the tombs may be difficult for people with disabilities. As this site is managed by the OPW, qualifying school/educational visits are permitted free of charge provided certain conditions are met.
