The Somme Heritage Centre (now Somme Museum, following accreditation) opened in 1994 as an educational facility and tourist attraction. They hold guided tours on the hour every hour between 10 am and 3 pm during opening hours. These are interactive educational tours. Their guides have learned great knowledge of the First World War and in particular the Battle of the Somme and of the role Ireland played in it, as well as the history of the Home Rule Crises and history of Women in the War. For tours, visitors are advised to book in advance. Contact the Somme Museum for more information.
