Seamus Heaney: Listen Now Again

MORE VIDEOS!
This exhibition draws on the rich archive that Heaney and his family donated to the National Library of Ireland in 2011. It is divided into four sections, Excavations, Creativity, Conscience and Marvels and follows the journey of Heaney's life from his childhood to his later years and legacy. For primary schools, they offer guided tours that link to the English, Geography and History curriculum strands. The tour can be combined with an origami workshop which allows students to express their creative side. We also provide curriculum focused visits for secondary school students in English, history and art history. Teachers can send an email or give us a call and we can talk them through their booking. With English groups we also offer the option of a close reading workshop as part of their visit where we look at one or two Heaney poems in greater detail in an informal group discussion.
