Epic Tour - The Irish Emigration Museum is the perfect destination for your school tour. With 20 stunning, interactive galleries at EPIC and ties to the primary school curriculum, your students will learn something new, and most importantly – have loads of fun. Become historical detectives with your little ones at the Irish Family History Centre, as part of Epic The Irish Emigration Museum’s visitor experience. Secondary school tours are also excellently catered for with specifically tailored tours and workshops depending on students needs.

Webinars: 60 min virtual experience includes a lecture and interactive Q&A session
‘Pick up the past’ workshop: Interactive workshop led by a trained facilitator exploring curriculum-relevant emigrants’ stories.
‘Techxibit’ coding workshop: Hands-on coding workshops suitable for complete beginners.
Women’s History Workshops: These workshops explore the History curriculum and the fascinating and complex field of women’s history through an Irish lens.
TY ‘Museum Maker’ Project: Over 4x hour-long weekly sessions, we’ll take students step-by-step through all the ins and outs of creating, running and promoting a museum.
‘Become a historian’ series: Learn what it takes to be a detective of the past in this workshop designed for budding historians of all ages.

Guided Tour of EPIC: Our general guided tour is a one hour tour of Epic We offer one free teachers space with every 10 pupils, any additional teachers are charged at €12.00.
Techxibit Workshop: We merge the past with the future and explore fascinating history with amazing new tech! TECHXIBIT encourages students to combine STEM, Culture, and Heritage through a combination of a guided technology-focused tour, and hands-on coding workshops for beginners, linked to the new coding curriculum. 15 students per workshop.
Emigrant’s Suitcase Workshop: On our ‘Pick Up the Past’ tour, students will carry out a guided tour of the museum highlighting curriculum specific emigrants including Isabella McDougall and Thomas Quinn. After the tour, the group will experience an interactive workshop led by a trained facilitator, exploring a series of emigrants’ stories using a collection of objects and supporting material.
GENEius Workshop: Following a guided tour of the museum, students will take part in a family history workshop. GENEius with the Irish Family History Centre helps students take the first steps towards discovering their own family stories through discussion, research and creativity. It explores cultural tradition, diversity, identity, local history and social history.
